Today, Republican Leader of the Committee on Education and Labor, Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), issued the following statement after President Trump signed an Executive Order directing federal agencies to rescind or temporarily waive regulations to provide relief to businesses and job creators as the nation’s economy recovers from COVID-19:

“The strong economy ushered in through Republican-led pro-growth policies was hit hard by the global outbreak of COVID-19. America’s businesses and workers might be hurting, but our economic engine isn’t down for the count.

“Now, more than ever, we need to create an environment that provides relief and support for our nation’s businesses and job creators. Red tape, coercion, and burdensome regulations aren’t the answer.

“President Trump’s Executive Order is a necessary and welcomed step as we work toward a full economic recovery. I look forward to working with agencies under the Education and Labor Committee’s jurisdiction to ensure they are doing their part to help with our nation’s economic recovery.”
