Rep. John Kline (R-MN), the top Republican on the U.S. House Education and Labor Committee, issued the following statement on Workers Memorial Day:

“Today we remember the workers who have lost their lives or been injured on the job, and we recommit ourselves to keeping American workplaces safe. With the memory of recent workplace tragedies still fresh in the minds of Americans, commemoration of Workers Memorial Day is a reminder that workplace safety must be a constant priority. Workers, employers, inspectors, and regulators must all work together to prevent workplace illness, injury, and loss of life.”

NOTE: Today, the Subcommittee on Workforce Protections held a hearing on workplace safety and the whistleblower and victim's rights provisions of H.R. 2067, the Protecting America's Workers Act. More information is available on the Education and Labor Committee’s Republican website.
