Foxx Readout on Parental Rights Roundtable

Today, Education and Labor Committee Republican Leader Virginia Foxx (R-NC) hosted a roundtable discussion on the importance of protecting parental rights.

Following the meeting, Republican Leader Foxx said: “Ideologically driven K-12 curriculum is unacceptable. Efforts to reform K-12 education should focus on increasing quality, safety, and better outcomes—not turning students into social justice warriors.

“I have been appalled to see parents silenced at school board meetings, called domestic terrorists, investigated by the FBI, and lied to about the health and well-being of their children.

“Parents have a right to have a say in their child’s education. The organizations Members heard from today are dedicated to empowering parents to defend their rights at the local, state, and national level. Passing the Parents Bill of Rights will send a clear message that Congress supports the parents’ rights movement.”
