Today, Republican Leader of the Education and Labor Committee Virginia Foxx (R-NC) gave the following statement after Democrats voted to advance their partisan bill, which paves the way for another massive spending package:

“This $3.5 trillion socialist wish list will make everything ‘free’ except for the people. The Democrats make outlandish promises, spend future generations into oblivion, and then grow the government’s role in the private sector and citizen’s lives. And they do so unilaterally, without proper committee review or sufficient input from stakeholders.

“The American people are tired of Washington’s insatiable appetite for reckless spending. They’re tired of watching inflation drive up prices at the gas pump and jobs go unfilled. I share their frustration. The Democrats’ record spending is robbing Americans blind. Instead of enacting legislation that increases educational freedom, strengthens our workforce, and reins in runaway inflation, Democrats are doubling down on failed socialist policy after failed socialist policy. If insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result, my Democrat colleagues must be well acquainted with that state of mind.”
