Today, Education and Labor Committee Republican Leader Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement after President Biden signed an Executive Order that will create a task force to examine ways the federal government can promote union membership and advance the Democrats’ radical, socialist, anti-worker agenda:
“Today, President Biden further solidified his cushy relationship with union bosses; the same people responsible for swindling workers’ hard-earned paychecks and pushing radical, unworkable policies that lead to lower economic growth, higher unemployment, and less workplace freedom. Democrats have long been skeptical of workers’ ability to decide for themselves whether to join a union, and today’s Executive Order underscores the distrust Biden’s administration has for working class Americans.
“Earlier this month, workers cast their vote and rejected Amazon unionization, but Democrats refuse to accept this vote of the people. It is absolutely appalling.
“While Democrats are fixated on peddling the shameless schemes of their union allies and enhancing their socialist agenda, they’re hanging workers out to dry – completely disregarding opportunities to nip union corruption in the bud and protect the freedoms inherent in the great American workforce. The precursors to accelerating the nation’s economic recovery are policies that get people back to work, pare back the skills gap, and allow innovation to flourish within the workforce. President Biden would do well to remember that, but his actions leave much to be desired.”
