Foxx on Walsh’s Confirmation as Secretary of Labor

Today, Education and Labor Committee Republican Leader Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement after the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Marty Walsh as the Secretary of the Department of Labor:

"The Department of Labor needs a public servant whose focus is on boosting our economy and getting Americans back in the workforce. Unfortunately, I continue to have serious concerns that Marty Walsh is the man for the job.

"Walsh’s history in organized labor signals that his loyalty, like many in President Biden’s cabinet, is to unions and special interest groups. He supports radical, left-wing priorities including a $15 national minimum wage, punitive one-size-fits-all regulations, and the PRO Act, which forces unionization of small businesses, abolishes right-to-work laws, and eliminates the independent contractor model. These are promises we cannot afford him to keep. American workers, job creators, and families deserve better than these socialist policies."
